Job Summary and Key Responsibilities


Job summary

  • Managing and maintaining Enterprise unified communications systems
  • Coordinate and administer telecommunications activities
  • Perform analysis and contribute to the design of phone architecture, integration and installation


Key responsibilities

  • Works with vendors to configure and deploy new systems and system upgrades.
  • Support upgrading, recommending and troubleshooting all phone issues
  • Acknowledge, respond and resolve end user requests for services for all EMM requests
  • Troubleshoots network problems or system failure involving Telephony or EMM to determine the causes and possible solutions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor directly related or relevant to the job
  • Ensure the assigned responsibilities are delivered: to a high standard of quality and timeliness
  • Experience in IT including managing and maintaining Enterprise unified communications systems. Experience installing and configuring Voice based applications like, Cisco UCM, and Cisco UCCE.
  • Advanced experience in configuring Enterprise Mobility Management solution i.e. Blackberry.
  • Integration experience and vendor management capability to support successful rollout
  • Stay abreast of cutting-edge technology and trends to meet end user mobile telephony configuration needs.
  • Excellent writing skills in English. Good organising and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills Executes troubleshooting methodology and root-cause analysis to resolve complex and advanced level problems.
  • Prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide network users, and to assist with the on-going operation, maintenance, and development of the network.
  • Drives problems to resolution, handling multiple complex issues simultaneously while effectively communicate and engage cross-functional technical peers.
  • Coordinates problem resolution, creates problem record, determines severity and prioritization classification.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Experience and skills

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • CCNP Collaboration or equivalent experience.
  • Certified in ITIL framework and processes.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in managing and maintaining Enterprise unified communications systems.
  • Coordinate and administer telecommunications activities.
  • Confer with business units to determine phone system needs, to establish project priority, and to assist with resolution of telecommunication problems.
  • Participate in IT teams to evaluate phone hardware and software requirements.
  • Perform analysis and contribute to the design of phone architecture, integration and installation.
  • Responsible for all company telecom, phone, faxes, fax servers and phone switches.
  • Understanding, knowledge, and experience with Cisco telephony architecture including PBX, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection and Cisco Unified Contact Centre.
  • Understanding, knowledge, and experience with video, voice and content collaboration and communication solutions.
  • Understanding, knowledge, and experience with BlackBerry and EMM solutions.
  • Understanding and knowledge of voice recording and dialler software.
  • Support document and support of all telephony disaster recovery for all client sites.
  • Assist and maintain documentation for the phone network and IT related support.
  • Assist and maintain a formal system of evaluating all telephone systems and materials used to maintain them.
